| CHECKING OUT MATERIALS
Materials are borrowed for a specified number of days as indicated by a date due slip. Currently, new materials circulate for 10, 14 or 28 days and sound recordings for 14 days. Feature films circulate for 1 to 2 days and nonfiction films circulate for 7 days. Any number of books may be borrowed; however, a Librarian's approval is required for more than three items on a subject. Cardholders may borrow up to four (4) sound recordings, eight (8) CDs, four (4)videotapes and two (2) DVD's at one time. Most items can be renewed at the library or from home via computer by linking to the library's homepage - www.nassaulibrary.org/longbeach and clicking the Library Catalog link. |

BEACH tollbooth exit. Take EXIT onto the LOOP PKWY. At the end take RIGHT FORK
onto LIDO BLVD, traveling WEST. Continue on LIDO BLVD, which becomes EAST then
WEST PARK AV. The library is between NATIONAL and MAGNOLIA BLVDS, on the north
side of the street. FROM FIVE TOWNS AREA: Take ATLANTIC BEACH BRIDGE, veer LEFT off bridge onto PARK ST. which becomes BEECH ST. in LONG BEACH. Turn LEFT (NORTH) on NEW YORK AV. TO PARK AV. Turn RIGHT (EAST) to the library. FROM VALLEY STREAM, LYNBROOK, & ROCKVILLE CENTRE AREA: Travel EAST on SUNRISE HWY. to LONG BEACH RD. Continue SOUTH on LONG BEACH RD. to AUSTIN BLVD. LONG BEACH RD. and AUSTIN BLVD. diverge. Bearing LEFT onto AUSTIN BLVD, continue over the LONG BEACH bridge to PARK AV. Turn RIGHT (westerly direction) and continue slightly past NATIONAL BLVD. Library is on the north side of the street. |

| Books, magazines, newspapers, films, compact discs,, recorded books, large print materials, electronic databases.... the library has more than 190,000 items in all formats available to meet your recreational and informational needs. At the central library, a trained professional reference staff offers help in answering all types of informational questions. There is career information, and an array of programs for all age groups. The Adult Dept has seventeen (17) computers for public useThe Youth Services Dept. assists children, parents, caregivers and teachers; they also have seven (7) computers for use by young people.A newsletter, Channels, describes the central library's current programs and activities.
